Saskatoon house prices edging up

The Star Phoenix
House prices in Saskatoon edged up in the fourth quarter of 2011, according to
brokerage firm Royal LePage.

Its House Price and Market Forecast Survey shows year-over-year house prices in Saskatoon increased slightly across all three housing types surveyed, due mainly to low interest rates helping motivate buyers to enter the market.

An average standard two-storey home rose 2.6 per cent year-over-year to $368,750, a detached bungalow increased 0.9 per cent to $334,250 and a standard condominium sold for an average price of $232,333 — a 3.3 per cent year-over-year increase.
