The average asking price of Saskatoon houses advertised for sale on Saskatchewan's leading website for private home sales reached another record high during the month of February.The average asking price of a Saskatoon home on saskhouses.com during the month of February was $328,481 - an increase of more than $15,000 from the month of January.
The average asking price was an increase of $130,000 from February of 2007, an increase of 65 percent in one year. (Click on the graph for a larger view)
Even with the dramatic increase in asking prices, sales were brisk. A total of 85 houses were sold through advertising on saskhouses.com during the month of February - a sales to listings ratio of 82.5 percent. Many other homes currently have offers pending.
While the Saskatoon housing market remains red hot, prices in markets around the city are also continuing to rise. The average asking price of houses in Warman in February was $331,767, and in Martensville, the average February asking price was $370,043.
