According to the Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation, the sky is definitely not falling on the Saskatchewan housing market - the CMHC is predicting that Saskatchewan's housing market will lead the nation in 2008.
The CMHC says resale transactions are expected to set a new record in Saskatchewan in 2008, and new home starts will be among the highest in 25 years.
Price growth is expected to continue throughout 2008, and that could cause a bit of a market slowdown in 2009. While the CMHC is predicting that prices will continue to rise in 2009, it is forecasting a slight decrease in housing starts and sales in 2009.
